What is a channel nut?

A channel nut is a special nut that fits inside the open slot of a strut channel. It allows bolts and fittings to be fixed at adjustable positions.
Common types include plain channel nuts, spring nuts, short spring nuts, long spring nuts, cone point nuts and serrated channel nuts. They are used with brackets, clamps, fittings and base plates.
